What to do if your site is near dead?

Just a simple question, what do you do if you're site starts to die?

I try to prevent this by putting new updates and sending newletters every now and then

This happened here three times so I know what to do. Exchange with people. Long term exchangements. Mega cool contest.

I have had this happen a few times myself not just with the forum I own now but with previous forums aswell. I find regular mass emails or newletters help to bring back members aswell as some good contests however with contests I usually find that members come back just for that and when the contest is over the don't bother again.

I also tend to add new things in and improve the forum if things start to get slow to help bring members back in.
